Winter Sunglass Trends Favorite Choices

By Brianna Carlton

Have you ever asked yourself what sunglasses are for? For some people, it is for protection against the glaring sun. But do you realize that your eyes do not just need protection when the sun is too bright? Our eyes need protection even on cloudy days when we do not feel that they do. Make sure that your eyes are well taken care of. Buy a pair of sunglasses that have 100% protection against UV radiation. They do not just protect your eyes; but also help you stay looking young by avoiding those frown lines from squinting. And while you are at it, be fashionable at the same time. Let us look at the winter sunglass trends for 2009.

Whether on TV, in magazines or on the runway, you will see fashion models wearing sunglasses. And for this season, you will notice that there has not been much change in the trend.

If you already got a pair of either wraps, aviators, shields or those over sized sunglasses that are round or geometrical, you can continue wearing them without being concerned that your look is now passe. If you have not gotten one for yourself, then perhaps it is time you did. There are tons of designs and colors to choose from. You can go for the classic black Jackie O sunglasses or the polarised wraps for a more modern look.

The aviators, popularized by Tom Cruise in the movie Top Gun, have managed to invade the 21st century with updated designs whilst maintaining the classic teardrop shape.

If you are one who prefers the modern image, you may want to go for one piece shields. Sometimes partially rimmed and at times rimless, they give a more futuristic look and have a selection of tints to suit different tastes.

The wraps have the lens cover the eye and extend to the temple. The more well known brands have added new shades to their collection and now have grey, silver and gradated brown. Wraps also have rimless designs.

It does not matter who you are or what age group you belong to. The 2009 winter sunglass trends will definitely have something in store for you. Whether your style is to look sporty, chic, retro or modern, there will definitely be a pair that will fit into your budget. What matters is you choose a design that will go with your outfit or the image you want to portray. And make sure you do not forget your basics. Thin and angular faces go with round sunglasses; and round faces go with shields, wraps or the geometrically shaped ones. - 29959
