G Shock Wrist Watches

Casio, a manufacturer of calculators, made an entrance into the manufacture of watches only after the revolution of electronic watches that occurred in the year 1974 with the advent of casitron. Casitron could also display the date along with time. The dates that were generated by casitron were accurate and the design was made in such a way that the dates generated were updated automatically, taking into account the long and short months and even leap years. Casio had a good start in the electronic market, thanks to Casitron.

In 1978 Casio released a wrist watch with an LCD screen, the first of its kind. The next watch had a digital and analog combination and was introduced in 1982. Further advancements introduced the G-shock in 1983, a shock resistant wrist watch. In 1984 a hand written wrist watch databank was released. In 1985, the FS-10 digital watch made an entry into the watch world. Further along, aiming to capture the adolescent market, the Sting analog watch was introduced in 1988. In 1989, a digital watch which also forecasted weather changes with the help sensors built-in it the BM-100WJ was released. A digital wrist watch with a compass CPW-100 was debuted and in 1994 the Baby-G was born, a G-shock especially for women. The release of the first display on glass was seen in the twincept watch in the year 1995.

G-Shock comes in different colours every season. They are available in vibrant colours which are funky or in classic colours like plain black. The wristwatches are also available in colour combinations that are trendy like a combination of neon yellow and night black. They are available in varied styles and the BG series made for women is available in no less than 24 styles with sporty and trendy colour combinations like white and hot red. 2 BGR series, 7 MSG series and 3 BGA series are presently available. For men, 4 watches in AW series, 8 in DW series and 32 in G series are available. 5 MTG series, 1 GLX style, 2 GWM series, 19 GW series, and 2 GS styles complete the watch collection. The wrist watches can withstand water up to 10 bars. The watches have been tested rigorously and are found to work even after compression, freezing, immersion in water, dropping from heights and hammering. The watches do not require a battery change for at least 10 years and can even withstand a fall of 10 metres. Casio has also released watches with solar cells that can charge the watches when they are being used in the presence of light. There is also a provision for the watches to synchronise themselves with American Standard Time by means of a radio signal from Fort Collins in Colorado. All the digital watches have timer and stopwatch facilities. Some of them even have extra features like thermometers, barometers and even a moon - tide chart.

Casio's development in the market of electronics is the fruit of hard work put in by the company. They have taken up many projects and assignments and tried their hand at many electronic gadgets like computers, printers, cameras, terminal screens and much more. Their goal is to further develop the watch manufacturing industry. The G-shock wrist watches are the most popular ones released by Casio and have been popular since they were released in the market. They were released mainly for enthusiastic sportsmen and many functions that were useful for training were built in the watches, including the physical toughness and sturdiness. The family of the founder Tadao Kashio still funds many sports events actively and contribute funds for new business ideas. - 29959
